ADT is Much More Than Home Security

Our ADT wireless security system has been a godsend for my family and me. We bought it through Protect Your Home, our ADT authorized dealer, and the alarm system has worked flawlessly.

But, rather than tell you all the reasons why you may need one too, let me just tell you about a few times our ADT home security system has come in handy for us. This ADT alarm has protected our house AND our family, too. A few years ago, my wife left the garage door open by accident when she came home one night. We all went to bed thinking the doors were safely locked and everything was normal. Around 3:00 that morning, our ADT alarm went off. We woke up immediately and ran downstairs to see what was going on. Some of the neighbors came out of their houses, and one of them said they saw a man running away through the woods. Thankfully, all the man had done was a little damage to the door to our house inside our garage. It gets better: the police were able to nab the robber on the other side of the woods behind our neighborhood. If it hadn’t been for our ADT home security system, who knows what would have been taken from us, or how we might have been harmed?

Then last year, my wife and I went out to dinner for our anniversary -- French food, a nice wine, the whole thing. While we were gone, the babysitter decided to experiment a little with her own cooking skills. Little did she know that while she was rummaging through the cabinets, our 2-year-old son had followed her into the kitchen and climbed into a cabinet that she had left open. Our son got into the cleaner, and swallowed a good bit of it before she saw him.

Our babysitter may not have known to close the cabinets, but she did know to push the alert button on our ADT Security keypad. Instead of having to call 911 and maybe be put on hold, she got immediate contact with an ADT security specialist at the 24/7 monitoring center, and told them she needed an ambulance. ADT sent help right away, and even called our cell phones to let my wife and I know there was a problem. We raced to the hospital in time to hear the doctor tell us that our son would be fine. Phew! We were lucky our babysitter knew what to do -- and lucky we had an ADT home security system.

Everyone has family stories like these, though they don't always end happily. I can’t imagine where we'd be if we hadn’t had our ADT Security system installed. We're thankful, and that's why we'll always let ADT home alarm systems watch out for us.
