California Home Security Systems
The state of California reports higher rates of certain crimes than the U.S. national average. For example, California's rates of motor vehicle theft and robbery are higher than the national average, as are property crime rates, according to CityRating.com and BizJournals.com.*
The cities in California reporting the highest rates of violent crime are Oakland, Oroville, Desert Hot Springs, Stockton, and Compton. The good news, however, is that year-to-year comparisons show that all categories of crime are being committed at lower rates than five to ten years ago.
California residents should realize that there are many common sense measures they can take to help protect themselves and their loved ones from crime. Home burglary, for example, is one of the most common nonviolent crimes both nationwide and in California. There is a lot the typical Californian can do to help reduce the risk of burglary.
