A woman has been released on $100,000 unsecured bail after being charged with multiple felonies stemming from a narcotics investigation in recent crime in Newtown Pennsylvania. The woman, from Doylestown, worked for an unidentified Newtown dentist, according to Newtown Township police. Police launched an investigation in June after the dentist alerted them to questionable amounts of pain medications that were ordered. The two-month investigation led to charges being filed against the suspect. The suspect was charged with 12 felony counts of acquisition or obtaining possession of a controlled substance by misrepresentation, fraud, forgery, deception or subterfuge; 12 misdemeanor counts of intentionally possessing a controlled substance; multiple counts of receiving stolen property; and nine third-degree felony counts of criminal use of communication facility. Police said that charge was initiated because she allegedly placed the fraudulent orders using her cell phone. The woman is accused of creating a dozen different narcotic orders between March and June, ordering more than 1,000 Hydrocodone and approximately 100 Diazepam tablets, according to police. The dentist told police that amount of pain medications were beyond the normal range of what he typically approves. The drugs were not in a secured medicine cabinet, according to reports.
