How Do I Know if I Have ADT Pulse?

With so many home security systems on the market, it can be difficult to know exactly what you have access to. This has some homeowners asking, “How do I know if I have ADT Pulse®?” ADT Pulse® is a tool homeowners can use to connect to their home security system and associated devices (such as video cameras and other home automation devices) via mobile app or web portal. ADT Pulse® is the optimal way to remotely manage your home security.

That sounds great (you say to yourself)! But, how do I even know if I have ADT Pulse®? There are a few ways you can check your ADT Pulse® status.

Do you pay for monitoring services?

Not all security systems are connected to monitoring services. Do-it-yourself home security systems are monitored by homeowners, rather than a monitoring company. These systems are not eligible for ADT Pulse®. If you pay a monthly fee to a security service, you are probably paying for monitoring. A quick peek at your monthly bill can verify whether or not your monitoring is provided by ADT. If ADT is your monitoring company, you are most likely eligible for or already have ADT Pulse® access.

If you have paid to have your home security system installed by a professional, that person is responsible for ensuring you know the ins and outs of your particular setup. Your security system will be of little use to you if you don’t understand how to use it. That security advisor should have instructed you on how to access ADT Pulse® through a mobile app or web portal if your system is compatible.

Refer to any educational materials provided by your security advisor or reach out to that company directly to verify whether your system is compatible with ADT Pulse®. You can also check your smartphone for the existence of the ADT Pulse® app to see if you have already set up the app.

Once you have verified that ADT is your security monitoring service, check your monthly bill. Monitoring packages that include ADT Pulse® start at $52.99 per month. If you are paying less than that amount, your package probably doesn’t include ADT Pulse® access.

In addition, if you are utilizing video cameras as part of your ADT-monitored system, you will likely have access to ADT pulse. Security cameras provide a video feed through ADT Pulse®.

Is your security system compatible with ADT Pulse®?

If you don’t already have ADT Pulse®, but have an existing security system, you may be able to integrate ADT Pulse® into your current system. Contact your security company for details.
